Master of Technology Management Course

1.1 Objective:

To create technologists and engineers from all branches ready with management skills

To ensure that the graduating students are ‘industry ready’ with managerial skills

To inspire students to start and run own ventures in their basic field of study with good business skills &knowledge

1.2 Degree Awarded

This course is five and half year integrating management course with undergraduate course in engineering with a six month internship leading to Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Technology after successful completion of 4 years (8 semesters) and Master Degree in Technology Management after successful completion of 5 years (10 semesters).

1.3. Credit Requirement

Completion of 24 Credits in management subjects during semester 3 to 8 (one subject/semester) along with bachelor degree curriculum.

Completion of 48 credits at 9th and 10th semester and completion 20 credits at 11th semester (6month project work internship in the discipline).

1.4 Duration and Entry Level Qualification / Eligibility:

Duration:

The course shall be of a total period of 5 ½ years including ten semesters of curriculum. Followed by one semester of industry internship.

Entry qualifications / Eligibility:

Entry level qualifications shall be same as prescribed for admission to bachelor degree

in bachelor of engineering or technology course.

1.5 Course Structure

Semester –I and II as per existing Bachelor of Engineering / Bachelor of Technology (B.E. /B. Tech.) structure 2012-13(CGPA)

Semester-III to Semester –VIII as per the existing Bachelor of Engineering / Bachelor of Technology (B.E. /B. Tech.) structure 2012-13 (CGPA) and one additional management subject in each semester.

Semester-IX to Semester-XI is devoted to full time management course in technology management

1.6 Evaluation

Continuous assessment based on internal evaluation. Internal evaluation shall be based

on minimum one sessional examination /semester, class assignments, group discussions

and semester attendance.

PLC Training Courses 

Short term Automation Course for 6 days

Short term course for Industry persons Short term Automation Course for 6 days This course is specially for persons coming from the industry who need to have the right  knowledge of PLC applications , instructions ,programming, trouble shooting , interfacing. The course starts from the Basics as we have different persons coming from different backgrounds with varied experiences and we need to start from a common ground . Allen  Bradely , Mitsubishi, Messung and Siemens PLCs are covered.  As Drives , MMI and SCADA  are also an integral part of automation , they are also included in the syllabus .Real Life Case Studies and Application Examples will be taken  to make the short course truly beneficial . The  sharing of experience and ideas  amongst participants helps in increasing the knowledge of individuals . Short Term Automation Course for 10 days For industry persons who want to pursue more applications and be more comfortable in their newly acquired  skills ,they can opt for a 10 days course. This is in continuation of the 6 days course. Duration : 6 days Timing : from 10 am to 5 pm. Topics for 6 days Module 1    Basics of electrical This covers topics involving AC/ DC Principles, hydraulics, pneumatics. Electrical symbols used in ndustries, 1Phase & 3Phase power supply. Module 2    PLC Details History of PLC, difference between relay, contactor & PLC logic, PLC architecture. A detail description of different PLC modules & cards.] Module 3     I/O configuration & Memory Mapping Why I/O configuration is required? How the I/O modules are addressed for Messung, Mitsubishi, AB & Siemens – PLCs Module 4     Programms & Ladder diagrams First steps with the programming device, introducing the basic ladder logic instructions, contacts, coils, and PLC scan. Module 5     The instruction Set A look at the instructions covered in all the PLC.Each instruction being illustrated by application specific program examples.The instructions covered are:- NO/NC, Set, Reset, Timers, Counters, Comparison, Arithmetic, Logical & Move functions Module 6    Communications & fault finding An introduction to communication options available for the type of PLCs includes also how to find hardware faults and probable causes. Module 7     MMI Introduction to MMI, its need, operation details and fundamentals of MMI, fault display in MMI, timer counter setting from MMI. Interfacing with PLC. Module 8    SCADA. Introduction to SCADA, configuration of different drivers, gateway.Database of tags and its use. Interfacing with PLC and simulation of PLC application in SCADA. Module 9    AC Drive Fundamentals of AC Drive, block diagram of AC drive, configuration of different drives. Control of drive with and without PLC. Various applications of AC Drive. Interfacing with PLC. **200 Questions and Certificate ** We also provide detail manual of all major PLCs on CD Topics for 10 days G ) Interfacing of GSM with PLC H ) Interfacing of Barcode with PLC I )  Extra PLC application  and more practical.  CIAT Basic Course for students for 4 weeks Degree / Diploma Students in final year or fresh passed out can do this course  as gaining at least the basic automation knowledge is vital for their career . The course will start  from the basics as nothing of theses topics are included in academic syllabus .  Fortnighly tests are taken to gauge the understanding level .
